HOW TO CHOOSE A BRA FOR YOUR BREAST SHAPE

With so many options available, how do you choose a bra style? Follow our two steps below to find the best frame for you.

Step 1: Determine your breast shape.

Whether they are fuller towards the bottom, wide set, or close set, the shape of your breasts can influence the bra style that will work best for you. Read on for information on how to identify which breast type applies to you.

Step 2: Get measured.

Many studies have shown that an ill-fitting bra can cause back and chest pain. To prevent this and ensure a supportive, comfortable fit, discover our bra fitting guide for expert tips on how to find your bra size. Alternatively, get professionally measured by a fit specialist, which you can find at major department stores, or in one of your local lingerie boutiques.

1. BRAS FOR TEAR DROP SHAPED BREASTS

Any moulded bra style or padded half cup bra

To build a little fullness in the top of the breast we recommend moulded and padded half cup bra styles to lift and reshape.

2. BRA STYLES FOR WIDE SET BREASTS

Side Support Bras or Balcony Bra Styles

Bras with added side support give great forward projection to wide set breasts, while balcony styles will provide great uplift and a rounded shape.

3. BRA SHAPES FOR SHALLOW AND SLENDER BREASTS

Balcony Bra or Padded Half Cup Bra

For shallow breasts, opt for bra shapes that create a rounded shape, such as Padded bras. Alternatively, opt for a Balcony bra for lift from the side to give a non-padded boost.

4. BRA TYPES FOR ASYMMETRIC BREAST SHAPES

Balcony Bra or Padded Half Cup Bra

If you have uneven or asymmetric breasts, moulded styles can cleverly conceal the difference in size between breasts by providing an even rounded profile. If you wish to choose a non-moulded style look out for stretch elastics at the neck edge which will hug the breast to help them look more even in size.

5. BRAS FOR CLOSE SET BREASTS

Side Support Plunge Bra

Narrow set wires and low centre fronts make plunge frames much more comfortable for close set breasts. Or you could even try a soft cup bra too for no wires at all.

6. BRAS FOR FULL BREASTS

Full Cup Bra

A full cup bra encapsulates the whole breast and will avoid cutting across the fullest part and creating a quad boob effect. Some balcony bras may do this if they have an elasticated neck edge so these may be best to avoid.
