SWIMWEAR & BIKINI CARE GUIDE
Our swimwear is designed to last, and with the right care it will stay looking and feeling beautiful season after season. Follow our simple care tips to help preserve the colour, shape, and quality of your favourite Fantasie swimwear.
Top Tips For Swimwear Care
Chlorine and prolonged sun exposure can damage swimwear fabrics and cause fading. To keep your swimwear looking its best, rinse in cool, fresh water as soon as possible after use to remove chlorine, salt, sand, sunscreen and body oils.
We recommend hand washing with a mild detergent, following the care label instructions. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and harsh detergents, as these can weaken fibres and reduce the garment’s lifespan. If machine washing is unavoidable, place in a mesh bag and use a delicate, cold cycle. Do not wring your swimwear, gently press out excess water. Dry flat away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and fabric damage. Do not tumble dry or place on a radiator.
Avoid rough surfaces such as concrete or pool edges, which can cause snagging and pilling, use a towel as a barrier and take care with jewellery.
Ensure swimwear is fully dry before storing. Laying flat or rolling and avoid leaving damp garments in bags or exposing them to direct heat or harsh chemicals.
As with lingerie, rotate your swimwear to allow time for washing, drying, and recovery of shape to maintain the best fit.
Swimwear Must-Haves
-
We advise that you always rinse your swimwear in cool, fresh water as soon as possible after each wear to remove chlorine, salt, sand and sunscreen. Hand wash your swimwear using a mild detergent and avoid twisting or wringing as this can stretch the fabric and affect the shape. Do not use bleach or fabric conditioner, as these can weaken the materials and reduce the lifespan of your swimwear.
-
We recommend hand washing swimwear only, as this is the best way to protect delicate fabrics. If machine washing is necessary, place your swimwear in a mesh laundry bag, use a delicate cycle with cold water and a gentle detergent.
-
Hand wash in cool water with a small amount of mild detergent, gently rubbing any areas that need extra attention. Avoid stretching, twisting, or wringing the fabric out as this can affect the shape and elasticity. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and then gently press out any excess and leave your swimwear to air dry in a shaded area away from direct sunlight.
-
We recommend rinsing and washing your swimwear after every use. Chlorine, salt water, sunscreen, oils, and other residues can build up on the fabric over time, causing colours to fade and weakening the fibres and elasticity. Gently rinsing in cool, fresh water after each wear will help to keep your swimwear looking and feeling their best for longer.
-
Please do not tumble dry your Fantasie swimwear. The heat can cause damage the delicate fibres and elastics, causing the fabric to lose its shape and therefore support. High temperatures can also affect the colour and overall quality of the garment. Instead, after washing, gently press out excess water and allow your swimwear to air dry naturally.
-
The best detergent for swimwear is a gentle detergent designed for delicate fabrics. Avoid using harsh detergents, bleach, or fabric conditioner, as they can weaken the delicate materials and reduce the lifespan of your swimwear.
-
To remove sunscreen from swimwear, rinse the garment in cool, fresh water as soon as possible after each wear. For any remaining marks or residue, gently apply a small amount of mild detergent directly to the affected area and allow it to soak before rinsing thoroughly.

-
Swimwear is unlikely to shrink when washed in cool water, however washing in hot water or tumble drying can cause fibres to tighten, and alter the fit. To help maintain its shape we recommend hand washing in cool water with a mild detergent and allowing your swimwear to air dry naturally.
-
Store your swimwear flat or loosely rolled once it is completely dry. Avoid leaving it in damp bags or enclosed spaces, as trapped moisture can lead to mildew, unpleasant odours, and damage to the fabric and elastic fibres. To help maintain its shape, colour, and longevity, store your swimwear in a cool, dry place away from direct heat, sunlight, and harsh chemicals.
